You Know What I Hate Reading About on Medium? Medium.

And I’m sick of reading about Vocal and NewsBreak and Quora too.

I don’t know if it’s something in the algorithm or people have stopped writing about anything remotely interesting, but every time I log onto Medium every damn story is about…Medium.

Well, sometimes there’s a story that is not about Medium. It’ll be about NewsBreak or Vocal or Quora. My entire feed is about content creation, with a couple of random erotica articles thrown in.

I logged in today and this was what I saw: Medium, Medium, Quora, Vocal vs. Medium, NewsBreak, Medium vs. NewsBreak, a story about a husband who shares his wife, Medium, Medium, a story about a new sex toy, and oh yeah, about 57 articles about Medium.

Are we completely out of ideas to write about? Is there something seriously wrong with the algorithm? Or is the natural result of so many big-name authors leaving the platform for greener pastures?
